Trump says he will ban 'artificial intelligence' from relevant documents

President Donald Trump said Tuesday on Truth Social that he plans to ban the term “AI/Artificial Intelligence” from relevant documents and elsewhere, arguing that it is inaccurate.

Trump wants federal agencies to use “super intelligence” instead. He signed an executive order on Sept. 29 directing agencies to adopt that terminology and raised the issue at a White House meeting with Elon Musk and other technology executives last month.

The president also urged The Wall Street Journal to use his preferred term, claiming that virtually everyone else already uses it or soon will. The White House previously used the established terminology in its “AI Action Plan,” which was released last year.
