With his victory in Monday night’s Iowa caucuses, Donald Trump solidified his path to the Republican Party’s presidential nomination.
Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley were Trump’s two closest competitors, but the former president prevailed three years after many Republicans declared they were prepared to move on from him because of his involvement in inciting the rebellion on January 6, 2021.
He has solidified his position as the party’s current leader. Next up is New Hampshire, where Trump is leading by a wide margin in the polls and will have its primary in one week.
